The building is empty. That does not mean she is alone.
Lark Meridian restores the properties other people have stopped believing in. At twenty-nine, she has the training, the tools, and the patience for difficult buildings. Prescott Point Light and its keeper’s house look like another hard job: salt damage, boarded windows, and a long stretch of neglected coastline.
But a house can be officially vacant and still resist the word empty. With the Atlantic at her back and the lighthouse above her, Lark begins work in a place whose history feels less settled than the paperwork suggests. Understanding what remains will take more than a structural survey.
A standalone ghost romance with a restoration setting, weathered coastal atmosphere, and a heroine used to finding value in the places everyone else leaves behind.
From the opening pages
The road ended a quarter mile before the house did, which should have told me something. I sat in the cab of my truck with the engine ticking down and looked at the last stretch of gravel — more weed than gravel, really, humped in the middle with grass gone silver-gold in the wind — and I thought, not for the first time, that every job worth taking asks you to walk the last part on foot.
